Dr. Kashani earned her medical degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City at the age of twenty-three. She is on the clinical faculty of the University of California San Diego School of Medicine in the Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Kashani relocated to San Diego in July of 2007 and has a private practice in La Jolla. She is board certified in Adult, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She has co-authored a book entitled “Raising Happy Children” and her advice has appeared in many publications including Parenting and Better Homes and Gardens. Dr. Kashani has made over 200 appearances on local news and morning shows, providing practical parenting suggestions for viewers, while maintaining a thriving private practice treating children, adolescents, adults and couples.
Dr. Kashani is past President of the North East Ohio Society of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and recent Secretary/Treasurer of the San Diego Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She is a volunteer with the CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) in San Diego providing assistance to the San Diego Fire Department as well as being actively involved in other community volunteer activities. She has a 22 year old son and 25 year old daughter.
